TURNER LAKE TRAIL SYSTEM
From the Covington Square, visitors can use bike lanes and sidewalks on Clark Street to access Turner Lake Park, which features three miles of paved and unpaved walking trails around the lake behind the Turner Lake Complex and ball fields. Follow the red (paved) loop trail to access the unpaved, nature trails to an outdoor classroom and old homesite foundation. Learn more about the Piedmont woodlands from signs located on the trails. For more information, visit the Newton County Recreation Commission website.
Future plans include connecting Turner Lake Park to Porterdale through a system of trails along Turkey Creek and the Yellow River.
The hiking trails are easy to moderate. The bike trails are moderate to strenuous.
